Carlisle National show today. Best Novice Scots Fancy with Elizabeth's son - I have never shown him before. He looks just like his mother now I see him on the show bench. Best Novice Current Year Bird as well. Very pleased.

Musselburgh & Whitecraig CBS show. Best Scots Fancy. The winner is No 80/15 - proving a great success this bird - it won Best Scots at the National Exhibition this year.

North East Gloster Club show today with OVCA Northern Patronage show. Best Novice and Best Scots Fancy. Really pleased that this foul green No 64/15 took the award today.

This white is let down by his damaged tail.

Some shots of the birds.

Gibber Italicus - lovely little birds.

And a stunning Gloster - clear. Somewhat rare in that variety.

I have acquired some Belgian Bumps - they are a new variety to me. Here was Best Belgian at the National this year. I've a lot to learn.

This weekend past - The National Exhibition at Stafford. Best Scots Fancy in Show.

I won the same title in 2012 and 2013 but it's great to win it with a new bird. Here is Elizabeth winning in 2012 and 2013.

Following my tradition, this year's winner is named Prince George.

I have been incredibly remiss in not keeping this blog up to date.

The breeding season was good - 31 youngsters. My highest total so far.

And now we are in the show season.

First show was the Scots Fancy Specialist Club show on 3 October. Just missed Best in Show but beaten by Robert Clark. Won Best Novice, Best Novice Unflighted, Best Novice Piebald, Best Novice Any Other Colour, Best Novice Green, Best Novice Clear and Best Novice Flighted, along with two trophies, Best Novice and Bill Sheridan points trophy. Particulary pleased to win the USA OVCA rosette as Best Novice.

4 October 2015 was the Northern Counties Scots Fancy Canary Club show and I did well there too. Best Novice, Best Clear Yellow and Best Clear Buff. Well pleased. Best in Show - Alan Rundell's green.
