I have acquired some Belgian Bumps - they are a new variety to me. Here was Best Belgian at the National this year. I've a lot to learn.

This weekend past - The National Exhibition at Stafford. Best Scots Fancy in Show.

I won the same title in 2012 and 2013 but it's great to win it with a new bird. Here is Elizabeth winning in 2012 and 2013.

Following my tradition, this year's winner is named Prince George.

I have been incredibly remiss in not keeping this blog up to date.

The breeding season was good - 31 youngsters. My highest total so far.

And now we are in the show season.

First show was the Scots Fancy Specialist Club show on 3 October. Just missed Best in Show but beaten by Robert Clark. Won Best Novice, Best Novice Unflighted, Best Novice Piebald, Best Novice Any Other Colour, Best Novice Green, Best Novice Clear and Best Novice Flighted, along with two trophies, Best Novice and Bill Sheridan points trophy. Particulary pleased to win the USA OVCA rosette as Best Novice.

4 October 2015 was the Northern Counties Scots Fancy Canary Club show and I did well there too. Best Novice, Best Clear Yellow and Best Clear Buff. Well pleased. Best in Show - Alan Rundell's green.

First nest - 3 whites and one buff yellow - are at the "will we, won't we leave the nest" stage. Exciting to see them taking their first steps.

Just as well I didn't take away the "duff" eggs in this clutch - the fourth hatched today a day late, while two were early. 5 egg clutch - think she's too slim to incubate 5. And it looks to me to be a nest of blues. Mother is yellow and father blue.

Of my 10 Scots chicks so far, 4 are white, 2 yellow and I think 4 blue. 12 more eggs due tomorrow and over the weekend. I expect more blues, greens and piebalds. Where are my clears this year?

Seven Scots hatched so far. 4 whites, 2 yellow and, I hope one blue so far.
